Progress Report on Recommendations: An Investigation into the 1974 Valcartier Cadets Grenade Incident

In June 2015, the Office of the Ombudsman published a report on the 1974 Valcartier Grenade Incident. This report made two recommendations to help address the unfair gaps in support to those impacted by this tragic event.

Today I am pleased to announce that both recommendations are now implemented. We wish to acknowledge the efforts of the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces in rectifying this 45-year wrong. These measures will improve the lives of the affected individuals for years to come.
