Ombudsman Invites Members of Canada’s Defence Community to Annual Awards Ceremony

I would like to invite all members of Canada’s Defence community to our 11th annual commendations ceremony in Ottawa, where we will be presenting five exceptional individuals with the Liz Hoffman Memorial Commendation for Complaint Resolution.

Liz Hoffman was an investigator with our office who had a deeply rooted sense of fairness and was a tremendous force for positive change. This commendation allows us to recognize those in the Defence community who, like Liz, are dedicated to helping others and making a difference.

This year's recipients – Master Warrant Officer Roch Massicotte, Major Stéphane Roux and members of the Directorate of Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers: Captain Erin Kjosness, Ms. Denise Moore and Major Donnie Oulton – have truly gone the extra mile in helping their colleagues resolve a problem or in bringing about positive and lasting change to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces.

Our commendations ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at 10:00a.m. in the Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess in Ottawa, Ontario (4 Queen Elizabeth Drive). I hope everyone will consider joining us to recognize the outstanding achievements of five members of Canada’s Defence community.

Please inform Ms. Katelyn Southern (Katelyn.Southern@forces.gc.ca) if you plan to attend.

Pierre Daigle
Ombudsman
